The Joey Bill.jpg

The Joey Bill are an up and coming soul band, founded in the Cotswolds of Cheltenham who met as students in their first year at the University of Gloucestershire. After a couple of jamming sessions together they decided to form as a band in September 2018. The band consists of Joel Francis, with his soulful lead vocals as well as on guitar, Jacob Simmons with the intricate lead guitar strumming, Callum Bashford on the smooth bass, on the keys is the talented, skilful Jeremy Burne, and Rob Grady bringing the beat back on the drums.

Their influence in soul genres has inspired them to create a unique sound, allowing The Joey Bill to be very recognisable and popular around the Cheltenham music scene, performing both original songs and covers. Having played in Copenhagen and head lining UOG’s Frog and Fiddle annual Christmas gig, the band are in popular demand by continuing to create more of an impact with their gigging, with crowd favourites such as their original song ‘Need Some Time Alone’ and their Stevie Wonder cover of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’.

In 2019 their journey as a band continues and they have a lot more to offer. The Joey Bill will be in and out of the studio recording new material with a debut EP in the horizon. The band also have a lot more gigs lined up for them in the up and coming months including a slot at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May. Watch this space…
