Biography...
Demi Marinner is a bubbly, up and coming Pop/Country singer, songwriter and guitarist
who is originally from Birmingham but is now living and studying a music course in
Cheltenham. Her influences are combined by the Nashville country scene and her UK midland
roots and her voice compliments the story telling nature of country music perfectly. Demi has
always had a huge love for country music and is extremely passionate about music. At the age
of only 19, Demi has done everything from musical theatre to working alongside a variety of
bands, and has been hired for numerous residency jobs all over the country. She has been
successfully performing and building up a valued reputation in and around the UK for the last
3 years, playing hundreds of shows both in the UK and internationally, including Ireland,
Venice and Amsterdam, where she was fortunate enough to get several radio plays on the Netherland stations. Since joining University Demi has really found her roots with her music and has now set up her own five piece band that compliment her music wonderfully. The band include drums, bass, guitar and keys and have recently finished recording their EP ‘Tracks and Trails’ in the studio, which followed with three very successful EP launches in Cheltenham, Birmingham and Wolverhampton. After only 48 hours release of being on iTunes, the EP went to number 1 in the UK Country Music iTunes chart, which was a huge success. Demi is inspired and influenced by many artists and different genres of music which has led to her own original songs. Demi and her talented band have a lot to offer and are extremely passionate about playing live which is greatly important to them, which you can see in their performance and they get better each time they play!
Introducing the band…
Jack Quance is Demi’s very talented drummer. He met the band attending a music course at
the University of Gloucestershire in his hometown, Cheltenham. He has been playing in live
settings since the age of 14 in a wide range of genres - from musicals, to heavy rock, to live
hip-hop. Initially, he got into drums playing funk, but his playing tends to take influence
from whatever he’s listening to at the time - so a lot of country at the moment. However he
always comes back to D’Angelo, Jose James and Jeff Buckley. Jack has said “It’s a dream
playing with Demi and the boys, their ear and musicianship is incredible and it’s a genuinely
exhilarating experience creating and playing music with them.”
Adam Hodges is Demi’s brilliant pianist who is also very passionate about country music. Adam grew up in Conflation and moved to Cheltenham in 2014 for a 3 year course of Popular music at the University of Gloucestershire. He takes his main inspirations for music from artists such as Florida Georgia Line, Zac Brown Band and Luke Bryan. He is currently exploring the production side of music and is very much enjoying it and thinks it may be something he would like to pursue after he graduates.
Tomasz Williams is Demi’s bass player who shows great passion in his play. He has a huge interest
for funk and soul music but ultimately, he loves playing live. As well as the bass Tom also plays the
double bass, which always brings more soul into the live playing. Similar to Adam, Tom also has a
huge love for music production and it is something he would like to pursue. Tom has said his favourite
Demi Marriner song is ‘C You’, a song that always gets the crowd moving and singing along to.
The final member to the band is Demi’s guitarist Will Mawer, who with out a doubt knows his way around a guitar. He’s a Sussex boy born and bred with four years of live performing experience in the music pubs of Sussex, Dorking and Cheltenham. His main influences come from iconic blues musician such as John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix. He enjoys playing the musical dynamics of the band and has said that “it’s incredible to work with such fun, talented individuals, and I’m always excited to know where we're going next.”

Press Release
Coming up…
Wychwood Festival - 4th and 5th of June
Demi and her band are playing at the incredible Wychwood Festival this year in Cheltenham at the idyllic Prestbury Hills. Wychwood is known for it’s friendly family feel and has a range of great music to offer including a load of activities and workshops. This is going to be the second festival for them as a band after their Cheltenham Jazz Festival performance, which was very successful and got the crowd roaring. Plus, to make this even better, the band will be doing two sets over the weekend. Their first being on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday Evening, which is going to be a much more intimate set you'd expect to see at a Songwriter’s Session at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The second is their main stage performance on the Sunday, which will be a full energy set to get the crowd dancing and singing along in no time! This performance and festival won’t be one to miss so go check it out!
2000 Trees Festival - 7th, 8th and 9th of June
Demi and her band won a Battle of the Bands competition last month, gaining them a slot at the prestigious 2000 Trees Festival. They had to perform three songs and as a result of a great set, and a great social media spread and support, they won the opportunity to perform. Despite the festival being more of a ‘rock’ genre, Demi’s country set will go down superbly on the setting of the Forest Stage, one of the most renowned stages at 2000 Trees. Following her debut EP ‘Tracks and Trails’ reaching Number 1 in the UK Country Music iTunes chart just 48 hours post release, I’m sure they won’t disappoint! Demi herself has been on a number of Country Music Radio shows since her EP success, including the BBC WM and Black Country Radio, so this is certainly not the last you will see of Demi Marriner and her fantastic band!
